The best Prime Minister Britain never had

Here's a wonderful podcast interview with Tony Benn, the best Prime Minister Britain never had, from the Guardian. Listen to it and then ask yourself: is there anyone else in public life with Benn's intelligence, integrity and sense of historical perspective?

Benn was an early hero of mine and I'm ashamed to admit that I was nearly thirty before I realised that he was complete lunatic.

Benn together with the majority of Labour leaders from the 60s and 70s did untold damage to their true constituency.

Clever and well meaning but a total failure.
